1998 Fernandes Japan USA Custom APG-85S Dragonfly Sustainer - Metallic Silver
1998 Fernandes Japan USA Custom APG-85S Dragonfly Sustainer - Metallic Silver
Fernandes are (well, as of 2024, were - pour one out for a real OG) one of the most well-known Japanese guitar builders, legendary for their clones of Fender-style instruments under the Fernandes marque, Gibson-style instruments under the Burny marque, and the almost mythical status of their Sustainer pickup system.
The APG or "Dragonfly" body shape was introduced by Fernandes in the 1990s, with the APG-85S being part of the "USA Custom" Series designed for export to the US market. This example dates to 1998 and wears the much rarer Silver finish, and features a 24 fret maple neck with 350mm radius rosewood fretboard, basswood body, Fernandes/Takeuchi FRT-5PRO Floyd Rose vibrato bridge, and a HSS pickup configuration with a Fernandes Sustainer Pickup system installed from factory so you can feedback and sustain to your heart's content!
On the whole, this guitar is in great condition, save for a couple of finish cracks around the neck pocket. Plays great with an ergonomic design, and comes with a hard case.
