1990s Fernandes Japan LE-1Z Stratocaster - Black
Fernandes are (well, as of 2024, were - pour one out for a real OG) one of the most well-known Japanese guitar builders, legendary for their clones of Fender-style instruments under the Fernandes marque, Gibson-style instruments under the Burny marque, and the almost mythical status of their Sustainer pickup system.
The LE Series were Stratocaster-style electrics introduced by Fernandes around 1992 and were made until 1998, notably featuring a different headstock to the earlier "lawsuit"-era headstocks found on a lot of Japanese Fender clones.
In the simplest terms I can use, this LE-1Z follows the classic Strat formula of an alder or basswood body, maple neck and fretboard three single-coil pickups. It clearly has some cosmetic wear and tear, and will make an awesome player-grade Japanese Strat for someone at just $500.
